Compression/Tension Tables

Description

The Compression/Tension Tables emerge from the same engineering concept: the arc. As a principle the arc can resolve multiple structural stresses through simple geometry. The folded steel structures are engaged to form a continuous engineering solution to an aesthetic problem.

Statement of the jury

Inspired by the aesthetics of structural design, the table frame appears light and delicate and lends the table an austere, technical flair that is enhanced by its materiality.
