Kulturhaus Kals am Großglockner

Description

The cultural centre was established at the site of the former council building. The steep gabled roof of the new building and its precisely positioned openings refer to the adjacent gothic “Widum” without patronising it. The foyer of the cultural centre is positioned under the “Access Terrace”, located over it are the “Johann Stüdl Hall”, rooms of the doctor as well as a day care area.

Statement of the jury

The newly constructed building appears to be meticulously designed with regard to function and form in every respect, and is beautifully integrated into its surroundings from the standpoint of urban planning.
