Aachener Dom

Description

The Aachen Cathedral: city landmark, birthplace of Europe and UNESCO World Heritage Site. The heart of the new website is an interactive 3D-flight through the structure, based on an innovative scanning method provided by RWTH Aachen. HDR photos of features like chandelier and shrines underwent extensive post-processing. The flight was developed as a responsive scrollable HTML5 one-pager for all devices. The user is invited to explore the cathedral in an emotionally engaging and playful manner.

This website contains everything worth knowing about Aachen’s renowned calling card (its cathedral) and also allows for an thrilling user experience via its technically and artistically sophisticated 3D aerial journey though the cathedral.
