Kordelporzellan

Kordelporzellan

Description

First, the structure threads are dipped in fluid porcelain. In the fire the threads burn completely and leave the remaining porcelain web. The structure of the cord remains and gives the Cordporcelain its identity. The technique was invented by Silke Decker. In creating intricate, “ossified” vessels, Silke redefines the common perception of porcelain. Here the physical structure takes centre stage, and puts itself firmly in the contemporary arena.
