Description

Town history and fashion objects: Lindenberg used to be the centre of the German straw-hat industry. In a former hat factory, two floors accommodate thematic presentations, both consisting of an impressive central installation surrounded by chronologically arranged units. On the first level, the thematic islands are dedicated to the history of the town and the technical process of millinery. A hat tornado spreads out on the second level and lends its dynamic to the surrounding world of fashion.

Statement of the jury

The hat as a central design element accompanies the visitor consistently throughout the exhibition; the tornado beautifully implements the classic motif of the hat swirling through the air and ensures excitement and dynamism.
