Innenraumgestaltung und Ausstellungsarchitektur des Hedwig Bollhagen Museums

Innenraumgestaltung und Ausstellungsarchitektur des Hedwig Bollhagen Museums

Description

Hedwig Bollhagen (1907-2001) is the only ceramist in Germany to whom a private museum has been dedicated. Her ceramic heritage is on the list of national cultural goods. She never set out to create fashionable bestsellers but wanted to make simple, timeless things. Her goal is also reflected in the interior design: for an arts and crafts museum, it has stay and daylight showcases of an expectionally high quality, the ceramics are optimally illuminated without artificial light.

Statement of the jury

The illumination of the display cases with natural daylight creates a unique atmosphere that does justice to the intentions of the ceramic artist with regard to simplicity and suitability for everyday use.
