Nike European Logistics Campus

Description

Nike’s newly expanded European Logistics Campus sources energy from its surrounding landscape. Using a mix of the latest technologies, it was possible to make the building 100 % self-sustainable. Probably the world’s longest hanging façade provides 3,000 m2 of vegetation and integrates useable spaces for people, sun protection and hidden emergency routes. The design has been based on three focus points: fossile-free operations, closed-loop flows and a healthy and biodiverse environment.

Statement of the jury

This corporate campus is an exemplary zero energy project. Designed and built to use an absolute minimum amount of energy, the building obtains all the energy it needs from self-derived regenerative sources.
