The “Hand painted wallpapers” by Berlin designer Gosia Warrink turn the industrial wallpaper into a unique item. With colours applied by hand with brushes, Warrink creates sensible brilliance and tactile depth on the paper webs. Every paper roll becomes one of a kind. Referring to the lightness and power of african patterns, street-art and art brut, interior wallpapers are thought of in a new way: as a unique total work of art.
Each section of wallpaper was painted by hand here, so that each piece is a small work of art in which the paint is haptically perceptible. A powerfully implemented idea.
