Statement of the jury

"The Shanghai Film Museum is the first of its kind in Shanghai and enables visitors to actively immerse themselves in the world of film and consequently become part of Shanghai’s film industry. Visitors can experience how the Shanghai film industry came about in rooms that are excitingly and always differently designed, but can also delve into a fascinating world of glamour and stars. Amongst other things, the museum incorporates permanent and temporary exhibitions and has DIY workshops and a multifunctional event space. It also enables experts to pass on their knowledge to visitors and consequently creates a communicative atmosphere. A highly successful concept focussing on interaction and dialogue, which understands how to cleverly play with illusion."
