CIAK All Day Italian

Description

CIAK – The onomatopoeic sound of a clapper board closing is a name that originated from the filming industry. Being an Italian restaurant and grocery, it serves original Italian home cuisine. Antique objects and design materials of an old Italian town are employed to create a dolce vita (Sweet Life) ambience. The big cement pillars at the site are harmonized to become a tree trunk and a spacious ceiling is built by symbolic tree branches in a clapper board "<" shape radiating outwards.

Statement of the jury

This abstract tree sculpture made of simple wooden slats that extend across the entire ceiling endows the space with a distinctive identity. A fantastic motif that is readily recognisable.
