The change of hairstyles actually provides a way to record people’s lives, and whenever people see their hair in old photos, the past moments are awakened. This inspired the design team to create a place of nostalgic atmosphere to guide the customers to develop an emotional identity which is also contributed to by the cyclical behaviour of hair growth and cutting as well as the concept of room shape which was used to integrate the room and to improve the overall use of the space.

Statement of the jury

The combination of concrete, wood, metal and tiles creates a fascinating retro look whose clear forms are also very elegant and contemporary. For a hair salon, undeniably an exceptional design – one that makes the establishment highly distinctive.
