Haus Schlottbom

Haus Schlottbom

Description

The 710 sqm large plot of land owned by a couple is centrally located near the pilgrimage church between the river Ems and the creek Böhmer Bach in the northern part of the placid town of Telgte. On this plot, a construction made of clinker and plaster rises. The 207 sqm large new building with partial basement consists of an almost T-shaped building on the ground floor. On the side facing the garden, the upper floor that recesses to the street, is constructed above the ground floor.

Statement of the jury

The appeal of Haus Schlottbom (Schlottbom House) lies primarily in a series of architectural details that combine to form something very special indeed. Thanks to the use of light colours, the building has a light and congenial feeling – an impression that is accentuated by the use of contrasting dark grey window frames.
