KOI Japanese Sake

Description

This package is for Japanese Sake, which is called KOI. Our purpose for this project was “To create an impressively crafted sake that represents Japan”. We chose the famous, ornamental Japanese koi fish Nishikigoi as our motif. Called a living jewel, koi has beautiful red patterns on a white body. Our package expresses the beauty of koi, with red patterns directly printed on a white bottle which resembles the shape of koi. By cutting the box in a koi silhouette, it visually emphasizes the image of koi.

Statement of the jury

This packaging conveys the theme of koi carp down to the minutest detail. In so doing, the design zeroes in on the beauty of the signature pattern which – in conjunction with the bottle’s clear design aesthetic – is as elegant as it is beautiful.
