Tonhalle Interimsspielstätte Maag, Zürich

Tonhalle Interimsspielstätte Maag, Zürich

Description

The integration of the concert hall into a former industrial building was designed as a »box within a box« accomodating 1,224 visitors, and was executed as an independent wooden element construction with a primary steel structure and cross-laminated timber plates of cost-effective spruce. On the exterior, visitors can see the raw and authentic construction method of the wooden element building. The precise inner shape of the hall follows the rules of room acoustics, with precisely angled wall and ceiling panels.
