Description

The vase LAYERS uses only glass to achieve a deeper material effect with overlapping layers of colors and finishes. The three glass vases are placed inside each other, enlarging in scale to stretch glass to its limits of dimension, and in doing so create a piece that is very »important«. In its monomaterial simplicity, it can »conquer« a place of calm in the home.

Statement of the jury

Layers is a tripartite set of vases that is a joy to behold and whose robust presence endows every ambience with a touch of elegance. The three vases, each of which is a different size, shape and colour, nest perfectly within each other; and when arranged in this fashion, they are striking for their sculptural quality. A wonderfully harmonious and timelessly beautiful ensemble that is sure to retain its visual appeal, even without flowers.
