The beauty of the building is architecturally designed in perfect harmony with the natural splendor of an old tree and the needs of a five-member patchwork family. The L-shaped structure takes the different lighting situations into account. The ground floor provides indoor/outdoor space for food preparation, cooking, dining and living. The upper floor hosts individual rooms. Raw materials absorb the light, and larchwood shingles and copper cladding outside reflect the nature into the inside.
Statement of the jury
The sculptural architecture, with its large banks of windows and interstices, allows plenty of natural light into the interior, thus creating a wide variety of lighting situations, which, in combination with the modern, elegantly purist interior concept, gives rise to an extraordinary living atmosphere.
