Stoltze-Museum in der neuen Frankfurter Altstadt

Stoltze-Museum in der neuen Frankfurter Altstadt

Description

Friedrich Stoltze was a poet, publisher and democrat in Frankfurt. In his satirical weekly paper Frankfurter Latern, he stood up for press freedom and civil rights. The illuminating colour of the staircase refers to Stoltze’s major work. Here, the Stoltze biography is told in stations, which is closely linked to historical events. In the following rooms, work and family life are presented in detail. The shape of the furnitures refer to a paper and correspond to the staircase, the Latern.

Statement of the jury

The design translates the newspaper theme skilfully into the stylistic elements of the exhibits, where the historical architecture of the building and the interior of it create a beautiful framework. The appealing exhibition design sparks curiosity and interest and convinces with well-prepared didactical analogue and digital content.
