BlueKolding has a clear-cut purpose: Imagine a world without waste. Powered By You 2.0 utilises surplus heat in wastewater for district heating. The wastewater from the 83 apartments in a student residence flows into a heat exchanger along with wastewater from other households, heating the district heating water, which is then pumped into the radiators of the apartments via a closed circuit. Thus, thermal energy from wastewater accounts for 100% of the entire building’s heat consumption.

The idea of using wastewater from the shower as heat for the heating system rather than draining it into the sewer is brilliant. A sustainable system that saves resources and lowers costs.
