Leben im Park – An der alten Spinnerei

In the city of Kolbermoor, a five-storey building and a six-storey building, with a total of 26 residential units and four commercial units, were built in the Spinnereipark. The so-called Y-houses are characterised by their extraordinary architecture, which shows care towards nature and the local conditions. The Y-shape of the buildings enables a three-sided supply of daylight to each unit. The sustainable heat and energy supply, a good primary energy factor and the expansion of compensation and biotope areas are part of the eco-concept. Due to the traffic-free access via footpaths, the park remains an oasis of calm.

Statement of the jury

The irregularly styled balconies in combination with extensive glass façades make the building appear pleasantly lively, modern and refined – an impression that is further underlined by the contrast between the white of the balconies and the brown of the walls.
