Hotel Alex Lake Zürich

Description

The new design hotel Alex Lake Zurich has been welcoming guests right by Lake Zurich since July 2019. There used to be a hotel in the exact same place, but over the years the building and the building services no longer met today’s standards. In order to accommodate the space requested, Marazzi+Paul planned part of the building within the cubature and on the foundations of the old building. There are now 44 hotel rooms including two penthouse suites, all with a view of Lake Zurich.

Statement of the jury

The clear, cubist building style of the hotel building looks modern, refined and inviting – an impression that continues inside as well through the bright and tastefully designed interior, right down to the very last detail. A successful design that is impressive both inside and out.
