CARL System

Description

»CARL« refers to "Controlled Automated Reperfusion of the whoLe Body", which describes a new approach to treat patients undergoing resuscitation. The concept was developed in close collaboration between physicians and engineers and transformed into the »CARL« System, which is designed for in and out of hospital use. The components of this system represent a patient-specific device technology that combines innovation, functionality and aestetics in order to shift the limits of resuscitation.

Statement of the jury

The »CARL« system for resuscitating patients was developed in an interdisciplinary manner by medical professionals and engineers with a consistent user-centered approach and combines innovation, functionality and aesthetics in a compact design.
