The guidance system offers space for all three aspects of the city and runs through Dessau in a variety of routes. The modular design of the steles adapts to the spatial conditions and appears in blue, green or neutral for the three topics. The narrative focus is on interesting details: one story - one motif. In addition, a fact stele provides details and context of the sights. Clear isometric illustrations and precise facts form a strong contrast to the atmospheric stories.

Statement of the jury

The »Dessau-Roßlau Guidance and Information System« does not simply point the way to sights, but enables cultural contextualisation through the combination of image and informational text. The stelae with their distinctive modular architecture are already small sights in themselves that create curiosity-awakening accents in the public space, which makes their design so special.
