Hirooka Terrace

Hirooka Terrace was completed amid unprecedented challenges: the COVID-19 pandemic during design, then the Noto Peninsula Earthquake and torrential rains during construction. Located on Keyaki Boulevard west of Kanazawa Station, the project reimagines boundaries between inside and outside, shared and private, and existing and new. Rather than large private areas with limited common space, it creates generous common areas where people gather and share ideas. Voids and stairs connect floors 1–13, forming a vertical continuum of park-like spaces where light, breezes, changes over time, and local materials foster conversation and creativity.
