The project consolidates two adjoining plots between party walls in an early twentieth-century seaside district, giving the site two frontages. Run as a cooperative, its client is not a person but a group that must recognize itself in one building. Rather than build to the limit, two volumes are pushed to the streets and the block's center freed: courtyard, pool and shared areas no dwelling owns, yet all claim as their own. The alignment the ordinance demands becomes a double skin with a habitable thickness, where terraces, louvers and exposed concrete filter light and sun. Its value lies not in what it occupies but in what it organizes.
