Details
The bridge, which is already under construction, is characterized by expediency functionality.However, there was always the wish to refer to the formally distinctive predecessor bridge buildings in terms of design.How can a contemp., statically unnecessary elevation look like? Analogous to a garland, a steel structure in the middle of the bridge is pulled apart on both sides in a fan-shaped on both sides. The shape of the former steel structure of the predecessor bridges at heights of 3.65-9.50 m.
The Jury‘s Statement
The idea, as appealing as it is original, of referencing the architecture of the previous bridge by means of a steel structure drawn apart in a fan shape like a paper garland not only ensures visual lightness, but also lends the new bridge a high degree of recognizability and makes it unmistakable.
