The design for the Schulz Foundation transforms an eclectically styled residence into a representative cultural centre. Saving the villa from ruin establishes an address of social change in the Bavarian town of Amorbach. The design is a careful balance between functionality and comfort, between respect for architectural history and innovation, and between cost-effectiveness and sustainability. The project lucidly demonstrates how design can bridge the past, the present and the future.

After the comprehensive renovation of the villa in Amorbach, the past is still alive, but at the same time combines formally and technically with the present, thus creating a special atmosphere.
