You can use it with all types of incense, such as, resin stones and oil. The candle underneath allows the incense to be heated, diffusing its scent in a delicate manner. Incense sticks can also be used via the small hole. In its simplest form, it is also a beautiful candleholder that will create a soft atmosphere in your home.
