Details
The exhibition presents on 1,200 square meters how life on earth originated and evolved over millions of years. The many lines of evolution can be traced back based on the latest DNA research on living organisms. More than 600 specimens from the zoological collection are displayed and make evolution and biodiversity tangible. The exhibition conveys the current state of research and teaching at Heidelberg University and aims to present these for a broad public.
The Jury‘s Statement
The exhibition shows chronologically how life on earth originated and developed. The long tour leads past atmospherically illuminated wall-high display cases in which more than 600 specimens give a face or shape to the stages of life. A fascinating and emotional journey that also raises awareness of the complex diversity of life.
