Based on the structure of a barrel sauna, we added a stepped ceiling and installed a long, narrow window to let in morning light. As a result, the round roof with a step became a new architectural icon. Located in Aogaki, Tamba City, Hyogo Prefecture, where the headwaters of the Kako River flow, this sauna uses the area's high-quality natural water for its cold baths. In line with the concept of utilizing thinned wood cut from nearby mountains by the operating company, Kiei Co., the sauna was named “Yoki Sauna” and symbolized with a mark representing the circulation of four trees.
