Details
The entrance facade is formed with 4 pointed arches. The arches on each door emphasize the entrance by staggering into each other. 8 circles are designed around a main circle on the ceiling. 8 circles point to 8 different doors of paradise in lslamic belief. On the Qibla wall, the niche where the imam will pray has been designed and emphasized. The sermon course and the pulpit(minbar) were also designed within the qibla wall for the division in the area where prayers are performed has been eliminated.
The Jury‘s Statement
The interior design of the “BBS Mosque” allows all visitors to experience the symbolic and functional elements of the Islamic religion at a high level of design. In addition to the qibla wall with the central prayer niche, the particularly artistic design of the ceiling is also impressive, with eight smaller circles arranged around a main circle that refer to the eight different doors of paradise.
