Magenta Mitte: In the heart of Berlin, the doors to the new representational headquarter Deutsche Telekom are opening. A key aim of the concept was the spatial transformation of the existing structure, incorporating a unique design identity. The muscular visual elements that wrap around the facade of the former Otto Bock Science Center are reinterpreted as metaphorical networks within the new context of telecommunication. These networks realign toward the building’s core, organizing atmospheric spaces, integrating meeting points, seating alcoves, functional areas, modern art, while providing structure, order, and orientation within the space.
The Jury‘s Statement
The Capital Representation in Berlin captivates with its adept transformation of existing structures into a new design identity that harmoniously integrates telecommunications and art. The spatial design creates open, inviting areas that meet both functional and aesthetic needs, while providing structure and orientation.
