Details
CCB is a material made from 85% coffee grounds waste with a 15% water-based acrylate binder as a wood substitute for furniture, floors, wall and ceiling panels. Instead of "produce - use - throw away", production cycles are formed in which as little as possible is lost. At Dekodur, this material is given a perfect, formaldehyde-free HPL surface with unique properties and structures. An environmentally friendly composite element is created that stores CO₂ for a long time.
The Jury‘s Statement
The high level of coffee consumption in our society results in huge amounts of coffee grounds waste every day. DI Dekodur utilises this waste to produce its innovative "CCB" material, thereby conserving the valuable resource of wood.
