In 2017, a group of machining experts set themselves the task of finding a solution for recurring cutting edge fractures and the resulting reduced service life of solid carbide end milling cutters. The goals for a new tool were the combination of universality, maximum chip volume and maximum tool life. This should offer users an additional benefit in terms of process reliability and cost-effectiveness compared to commercially available solid carbide milling cutters.
