Statement of the jury

"An atmosphere was created for this hostel that perfectly complements the unique and also contradictory character of Berlin. An exciting mixture of art and old and new surfaces lends the hostel’s public areas their own style. Vintage wood is the main material employed in the following areas: reception, café, breakfast room and in the rooms themselves. The walls in the bar were clad with untreated copper. Art installations, neon leather and jeans for the seating furniture set colourful accents. This young, cool atmosphere is excellent proof that a distinguished interior design with clear design standards is also possible for hostels."
