Caustics lamp

Description

More than just a design object, our lamp is a lighting experience. This project is the result of symbiosis between the amazing world of caustics (the envelope of light rays reflected or refracted by a curved surface or object) and generative design. We combined computational algorithms and a handcrafted glass process to generate a brand new aesthetic, where the light plays a key role. Form follows physics.

Statement of the jury

Here, a surface structure based on mathematical algorithms refracts the light in a unique fashion, thus creating fascinating atmospheric lighting. A superb luminaire that thrillingly combines design and art.
