Description

Designers thoroughly apply the concept of light and shadow on Shanghai BFC Bona Cinema. The first prominent feature is the logo wall on the left of the cinema lobby. Several rectangular plates made with Rojo Alicante marble overlap each other in different directions, just like the form of light refraction.

Statement of the jury

The interior decor of this cinema uses large, rectangular slabs made of etched purple marble – and in so doing interprets, in a strikingly visual fashion, the effect of light refraction in film. An awesome design that endows the interior with a strikingly distinctive atmosphere of the type one would expect to find in the lobby of an exclusive hotel.
