KUKS HOSPITAL GARDEN

KUKS HOSPITAL GARDEN

Description

The garden at Kuks has a famous history dating from the 18th century. The garden was originally a chemist’s and kitchen garden. Over time, the garden vanished in its original form. The disposition of the restored garden is inspired by the Baroque plans. The main idea of the design is based on a combination of old practices, coupled with new technologies that make the garden less demanding to maintain. It is designed for current visitors and pharmacy studies. The spirit of the traditional garden culture returned to Kuks.

Statement of the jury

Despite all the modern gardening technology used at this facility, it remains highly impressive and enables visitors to experience at first hand the fascination and liveliness of historic baroque horticulture.
