Housing problems are becoming a societal problem in Germany. German Caritas, however, is taking to the streets. Literally. First the photo team takes a family in a living room, an old man in a bathroom and a student with all her stuff out onto the pavement. Later, volunteers from Caritas take furniture to the street all over Germany. The response is huge. The press reports throughout Germany. Finally, the federal government gives in and promises improvements in creating social housing.

Statement of the jury

Installed and played back on the street, the attention-grabbing campaign motifs were created with a lot of love for detail and a large portion of tongue-in-cheek humour, and rightly became talk of town. The creators managed to implement a topic of social relevance in a consistent and striking way down to the last detail with a grandiose campaign idea.
