Police Lëtzebuerg

Description

The Police’s logo consisted of a crawling, crowned lion with a forked tail whose two ends cross. The new icon is a minimalist interpretation of it. The blue and red arrows reflect the geometric shapes of the recent »Nation Branding« (inspiringluxembourg) and replace the two swords of the old one. The whitespace inside completes the colours of the flag of Luxembourg. The logo represents the new vision of the Police and conveys the fact that it is much closer to the citizens.

Statement of the jury

The new logo sets the lion from the former logo »free«, modernising them through clear outlines. A simple design with the two arrows in the state colours of red and blue accompanies the lion in its future presence that looks as dynamic, modern and clear as the logo and represents the police and their contemporary, people-oriented way of working.
