Vanke Port Apartment

Description

Architects modified the previous grille façade into new openings displaying plants, introducing the idea of a Sky Garden. The inner façade to the street inherits the jiangnan feeling of white wall and grey tile. The original double atrium is combined with the backyard to form a public garden which is full of the charm of the ancient city. The different functional areas in this garden contain a variety of art installations, each creating a unique atmosphere.

Statement of the jury

The architectural concept consistently follows the idea of a shared space, which is reflected wonderfully in the communal zones, such as the roof garden, library and additional lounge areas. The design of the facade must also be mentioned, with its numerous bay windows that give the building a distinctive appearance.
