Description

The pavilion was designed for the joint presentation of the German-speaking countries, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Liechtenstein, under the name »4 countries 1 language« at the 62nd International Book Fair in Belgrade. As the German language was chosen as the focus of the book fair in 2017, the participants were given a central position in Hall 2 of the Belgrade Fair. The fundamental concept of segmentation of the 210-sqm surface is based on a functional duality and dynamic composition.

Statement of the jury

The design, reminiscent of the aesthetic and stylistic elements of book shelves, creates a unique atmosphere of warmth and relaxation, transmitted through the curved walls and a feeling of movement and dynamics. Very well executed.
