Black Sea Arena

Description

An open-air concert venue was erected on the shores of the Black Sea in Georgia. Rising and circular grandstands focus on the large stage like in a classical theater. The large steel roof and the surrounding translucent and back-lit louvres turn the Black Sea Arena into a distinct and widely visible structure. The roof above the audience is retractable and all louvres can rotate, providing high adaptability to different needs and situations.

Statement of the jury

The surrounding translucent vertical slats give the arena a distinctive unmistakable aesthetic. These slats are not only backlit but can be angled, thus serving multiple purposes.
