LIUZHOU JINYI CINEMA

Description

Liuzhou, China is located on the banks of the Liu River, which is one of the main rivers that runs through Liuzhou and is famous for its curved shape. The two sides of the Liu River have attracted many families. While the river has connected everyone, they are also guarding this land and coexisting with nature. The shape of the river is reminiscent of film rolls, which is one of the main elements in movie-making.

Statement of the jury

The design translates the theme »film reel« into a sculptural installation that interprets the iconic image of a filmstrip passing through the reels in an analogue projector. An impressive installation that also refers to the river on which the cinema is located.
