Description

Rain flower pebble is a characteristic of the area of Nanjing, China. The pattern of the pebble is a gradual change of colour layers; different colours are layered on top of each other to create a rich colour variation. This is also why these pebbles have a high collector’s and artistic value. The designers have perfectly illustrated the characteristics of the pebble by using brown stones in different shades to convey the gradual change of colours throughout the whole perimeter.

Statement of the jury

The installation, consisting of countless elements hanging vertically from the ceiling, interprets the characteristic play of colours of the rainbow pebbles of Nanjing. This impressive design not only makes a striking reference to the region, but it transports the visitor to another world through the fascinating play of colours even before the film.
