Modelia Brut KAGURAZAKA
It sits amidst old temples and modern houses. Narrow alleys branch from the main street. The approach is paved with traditional roof tiles and the window openings are lined with wood patterned concrete, each shifted to provide privacy, light, air and views. There is a tranquil wash of light at night. Walls are either plain white or exposed concrete. There are chic walnut accents and kitchens featuring stainless steel. The interiors stimulate the residents’ imagination.
Statement of the jury
The concrete façade of the modern and appealing building is given an interesting texture through vertical wooden planks that help structure the building. The windows, arranged in different places on each individual floor, are a great way of breaking up the compact architecture.
