Description

A sturdy and featherlight table is an oxymoron, or rather, was. A massive table would typically require a robust structure. However, we sought to dematerialise the table’s structure, creating a sense of instability with a visually solid surface supported by an incredibly thin 3D-printed metal meshwork. This ambitious concept required a meticulous structural design and its concealed connection details to achieve a simple and elegant appearance with high performance.

Statement of the jury

The underframe constructed from a complex, filigree network is fascinating. A fantastic design, which appears to defy the laws of gravity and nonetheless rests firmly on the ground.
