G’s BASE FUKUOKA

G’s BASE FUKUOKA

Description

A mixed-use facility combining a programming school for geek education and a co-working space for engineers and designers. The spaces were required that can flexibly respond to various activities. So movable modular units were installed in the minimally finished void. We used industrial materials used in factories for furnitures and interfaces because they can be built quickly, and geeks prefer a practical and tough design. In this nightless city with artificial light, geeks produce services 24 hours a day.

Statement of the jury

The design impresses due to its high user-oriented flexibility. Bright colours, such as orange, green and yellow, mix up the simple functional furniture in an agreeable way, create interesting contrasts and, with the pragmatic flair of a young start-up, generally give the rooms a modern, vibrant and fresh look.
