Details

Renovation of a residence on the upper floor of a condominium under the theme of "Japaneses syncretic beauty. The space was created by various craftsmen's techniques, combining materials, furniture, and frames from different periods of time. The kitchen and floor plan were designed to blend the unusual with the calm and ordinary in order to accommodate the seasonal salon where guests are invited to cook and serve food. Vertical lattice fittings, which reconsidered how to bring in nature in an urban area, allow the wind to pass through and the light, tinted with the green of the trees, to diffuse brightly inside the room.

The Jury‘s Statement

The subtle lattice structures connect interior and exterior in an aesthetically consistent way, giving »Gray Syncretic House« an impressive, tranquil atmosphere. Harmoniously chosen materials and a flexible spatial concept reflect a respectful approach to both heritage and the present. The handling of light, space and identity is particularly compelling – a characterful achievement in residential architecture, truly worthy of gold.
