Details

The ALEA RESORT hideaway is an ultra-modern building with a façade clad in local grey shell limestone. The upper storey was designed with pitched roofs in keeping with the neighbourhood. The modern twist and the reference to history is created by the asymmetrical shape of the roofs and the cladding of the balconies in white metal panels. Their shape is not only reminiscent of the roof shapes of the neighbours, but is also a direct reference to the history of salt mining in this location, namely the shape of salt crystals.

The Jury‘s Statement

The boarding house impresses with its successful blend of contemporary design and regional history. The asymmetric roof shapes and balconies clad in white metal panels reflect both local architecture and the history of salt extraction. This aesthetic and cultural engagement distinguishes the »ALEA RESORT HIDEAWAY«.
