Details
It is a compact house that has all parts of the faculty together. This freed up space for a park. The main entrance is complemented by a 2nd southern entrance, which connects the entire area with the centre of Pilsen and connects to the park. The wings of the house are slanted, the southern floor recedes and thus follows the natural shape of the existing terrain. The entire mass of the house was thus lightened and naturally integrated into the surroundings. On the contrary, the front side encloses the square and is enhanced by a vertical elevation, emphasizing the importance of the building and the entrance to it.
The Jury‘s Statement
The university medical center impresses with its seamless integration into the natural surroundings. The clever arrangement of the building wings and the setback of the southern floor create a harmonious connection between architecture and landscape. The vertical elevation at the front emphasizes the importance of the entrance and the building as a whole.
